The Salton Sea is located in southeastern California at 227 feet below sea level. This unique saline land-locked body of water is a critical part of the Pacific Flyway attracting hundreds of species of birds to its wetland habitat.
I camped along the Sea back in winter of 1996 while on a major road trip which you can read more about in next week’s My World Tuesday.

I am having a terrible time anwering my comments and do not know why. The photo I took of ice on the Yakima river was from last year. We have not had any freezing weather yet, but are having a windstorm today. I have been enjoying your blog. I lived in an RV trailer for years and they were the best years of my life.
Love the blues in this. The reflection on the water is gorgeous. I've never been to Salton Sea. Almost got there once but we went some where else.
:-)
Oh I have never heard of this sea in the CA. Thanks for the information and the wonderful image.
Looks like diamonds dancing on the water. Gorgeous capture.
That is a stunning photograph when enlarged.
I'll be looking forward to your My World next week.

My school is about 20 miles from the Salton Sea. We don't appreciate it when it "burps" and sends out obnoxious odors! But, your picture is absolutely beautiful! I can't wait to read your blog about it!
I love the point of view in this photo! The sky is magnificent.
