I think the absolute same thing when I am for whatever reason out of bed very early. Well worth it, as your photos show.

Nice pictures. I mostly get sunsets, I have been sleeping in, too. No sunrise photos, yet.

Truly worth getting up for!

We haven't had any sunrises worth getting up for lately. Gray, gray, gray here in Ohio this winter. Bleh. I get more than my share of 5:00 sunrises in the summer!

That Yarnell sky is calling to you, Gaelyn. Too bad sunrise happens so EARLY!

During winter, I arrive at my office every morning just in time for the sun to rise and hit the Rocky Mountains. When the peaks are truly purple mountains majesty and the sky is pink and orange and purple and blue above them...it makes me appreciate why I get up so early.

And then I wish I could go back to bed lol.

Well, I do know that there is magic in the morning if one can get up, but something about winter just begs you to sleep in! What a nice, soft sky you woke up to! I hope you had a nice drive.

Definitely worth getting up early for!! Love your composition with the bare, blackened trees silhouetted against the skies! Beautiful! Hope you have a great weekend!

Gaelyn I'm smiling as I read this because here in AZ there are sacred sunrises but yes I agree "sleeping in" is my speed!

The human mom is usually in too much of a rush to gets to work in the morning!

We are impressed with that skirt in the previous post! Mom practically lives at the thrift store.

I'm with you--sunsets are more my speed, although this time of year even sleeping late I can still catch the sunrise. You're never far from either one in January here. In the summer if I stay up late I can catch both the sunset and the sunrise. If you go to bed at a normal time you'll miss both.

Great sunrise shots... and you and I share the photography problem of sleeping in! I miss a lot of sunrise shots.

That is so beautiful! Mornings are difficult, but the sunrise is the only thing that makes them worthwhile. :)

Yup, sunrise for you is a bit difficult at times... My problem seems to be I have to wait a couple of hours to see it... Sometimes I have to ask, "How was the sunset?"...

Makes it worthwile getting up early one in a while... ;-)

As I read once, if God had meant for me to see the sun rise he would have placed it later in the day. So not a morning person. Thanks for sharing your sunrise with me. By far the best way for me to see it.
