Description
I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

SWF - Sunrise
I quite often miss sunrise, even during winter. But Mike is always up before me and caught this sunrise the second day of the year.

We’re still moving stuff in and so far there’s still empty cupboards. Bet that won’t last long.

SWF – Sunrise in the desert
Wednesday morning we drove early to pick up the new RV. Then we waited for FedEx, the bank, new tires…

SS – City and country scenes
As most of you know, I don’t spend much time in cities. Yet last week when we drove over two hours to look at a 5th-wheel, then bought it, we had to drive on freeways, basically looping around the north and east side of Phoenix. Which along with all the “suburbs” is HUGE!
Along the 101 Loop concrete walls display some very interesting and simple patterns.
Not easy to photograph at 65mph in heavy traffic.
SR89 S to Wickenburg
Thank goodness the first half of the trip there is really scenic.

SWF – Worth waking up for
The only thing I really like about winter is seeing sunrise and not have to get up at the crack of dawn.
Last Wednesday was one of those glorious mornings. And there’s been a couple others since that I’ll show soon.

SWF – Sunrise through the pines
These sunrise shots taken out my window June 1st almost prompted me to get dressed and head to the rim.
I did say almost. I had to start work early enough that day. So I stayed in enjoying my cup of java.

SWF – Sunrise over Eastern Cape South Africa
Sunrise over Mount Ayliff far Eastern Cape
After the car wreck and a night in Mount Frere I headed off to trade in the rental car. It was a beautiful yet lonely highway towards Kokstad just over the border back into KwaZulu-Natal. Unfortunately, I had to continue driving for hours to Margate on the coast to exchange the crunched VW Citi Golf for a Yaris. But that’s a different story.

SWF – Sunrise in South Africa
Sunrise over False Bay from Moonglow B&B, Glencairn, ZA 6:19am
My last day in South Africa I felt like a bloody tourist, not my preferred mode of travel. Yet with only six hours before heading to Cape Town International airport I tried to get in as much as possible and got an early start. Very soon I’ll be posting more about this most awesome of journeys.

SWF - Greeting a new day and year
Seems like I’m getting up earlier lately and was gifted with gorgeous sunrises two mornings in a row.

If I get in my truck camper and stand on the bed looking out from the emergency hatch I get a great view of the morning light.

As we move into 2010 I once again wish for peace and understanding amongst all people, happily living in harmony with the land. Happy New Year to all of you, may your heart’s desires come true in the following year and beyond.
My phone line was cut, maybe by the javelina, the other night so I haven’t been to many blogs lately. Hopefully this will be fixed before next year and I can try to catch up. Please know you are all in my thoughts.

SWF - Sunrise at Grand Canyon National Park
You all know by now that I don’t do mornings very well. However, there is once schedule I work that gets me out there early, and I’m never sorry once I am.

I stopped to catch this gorgeous morning on my way to the office. And it was cold out.

But if you really want to see a cold, yet beautiful morning here at the canyon go to FabGrandma’s and check out what she saw yesterday morning.

Sky Watch Friday - Sunrise, Sunset
.jpg)
From highway 67 north surrounded by the 2006 Warm Fire
It rained a bit as I was leaving the North Rim early in the morning Wednesday to make it to Kanab for a truck repair appointment. The further north I got the clearer the sky. And Kanab was quite warm, although not their usual exceedingly hot.
I spent seven hours and way too many dollars at the mechanic shop. Truck runs better but still smokes like a dirty chimney going uphill. I’m not happy with that. I may have to accept that it’s an old truck. And instead of putting money into it save for a replacement. OUCH! It cuts into my playing money, and I’m not happy about that either.

Sunset over the meadows along highway 67
But how could I be unhappy for long when I drove home and saw this.

Stormy Sunday
I’ve enjoyed such fantastic T-shirt weather this fall. Yet today, the temperature has dropped almost 10° in the last three hours, wind blows, clouds continue to roll over with thunder booming in the distance. No rain, yet. The sun persistently tries to break through.Carson is hiding on the bed as is his custom when the thunder roars.
The birds are almost running each other over in a feeding frenzy. Maybe they know what’s coming.
