I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Going to Cedar Breaks

01 Cedar Breaks NM UT pano (1024x272)

It’s our weekend and we Have to go grocery shopping. This means a very long drive, no matter where we go. So I try to incorporate a fun visit to somewhere beautiful.

02 Columbine Ridge from North View overlook Cedar Breaks NM UT 1 of 7 (741x1024)

Being it will be unforgivably hot in Kanab (98F/36C), Page (100F/38C) or St George (106F/41C) I’ve chosen to head to even higher elevation, 10,000 ft/3048 m (78F/25C) Cedar Breaks, then camp in the Dixie National Forest.

03 Rattlesnake Creek valley & Cedar City from Chessmen Ridge overlook Cedar Breaks NM UT (1024x768)

Then we’ll go to Cedar City, it’s off in the distance, (only 94F/34C) to shop. Off in the morning.

I sort of know the feeling when you have a long shopping trip. We used to go miles in Zimbabwe. BUT we always had the same drive and not your scenery!! Diane

It must really be something else to not be able to pop down to the supermarket to get the weeks provisions. If I was you I would also make it a outing everytime I have to go on a road trip.

Not only did you get groceries, but beautiful photos as well. It had been in the 90's here, too, but last night it rained and cooled things off. Thank goodness.

It's going to take us forever to get there, with having to stop for pics all the time... And you know what?
WHO CARES!!!! It's going to be great fun in the sun! Let's go!

Such scenery is hard to imagine elsewhere and if it is a long way to the grocery store it may well be worth it. MB

I'll be heading out to St. George in a few weeks. Cedar Breaks is a great idea of a place to visit. We hope to visit the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce....

That's not a bad way to go shopping, seeing beautiful sights along the way.
