View east across the saddle from Point Imperial
A few weeks ago Mike and I went for a drive, and a few short hikes, during a storm. The canyon appears in many guises and I love them all.

What a beautiful shot. The colors of the canyon are just gorgeous.
Oh the colours of the canyon are just too beautiful, Gaelyn. Your images have such clean lines yet with warmth. Have a great day, Hugs Jo
You live in paradise and do what we all would like to be doing if we were brave. Love this, Gaelyn. Happy Trails!
Beautiful shot. I love the myriad colors.
WOW!! And what a storm it must have been!!
Seeing a storm move in over the canyou, specially if it has thunder and lightning, must be a stunning sight.
Look at those colors...no better light than before a storm! :)
Gaelyn, every picture is a post card when I come here. My how you have improved your photography since starting this blog! Wonderful! So glad I at least got to glimpse this place before I left AZ. Perhaps one day I will get to come back a dwell awhile!
Always wonderful views. Hmmm!
So what are your winter plans? Or are you still trying to figure that out. MB
Thank you for showing many of the moods and idiosyncrasies of the canyon. Such a beautiful, fascinating place. :)
Wow, that looks very intimidating - like I'd find a place to hunker down. Are those storms usually pretty local?
So if you're up there during a storm, I imagine the safest thing to do is to stay put, right?
I said "up there," though it is probably more accurate to say "down there."
Gaelyn: This is a neat view, what a wonderful place.
beautiful sky, those colors are perfect! i did field work near the north rim a couple years ago during monsoon season. used to love watching those storms roll in. beautiful shot, makes me miss it!
LOL
Regarding your comment about the date on my blog--I just don't ever know where I am or when. I had the year as 20010 so you can't expect me to change everything all at once. haha
Thanks for pointing that out. MB
The red rock and dark sky make a dramatic photo. Great capture!
