I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Aspen Gold

01 Aspen turning along Hwy 67 N GRCA NP AZ (1024x763)

The forest is turning to gold. At least the Aspen are. Last week’s few cool nights down into the low 30s F have triggered the trees. This photo was taken on Monday. I need to get out in the forest.

I am not a winter person and I hate the cold, but I do love autumn and the colours that go with it. Diane

Yes you do, Gaelyn. Get thee out into the forest and take amazing shots of the aspens to share with your friends. Go ahead. Go on now. I'm waiting. LOL!

I remember the aspens turning golden yellow. This is a nice picture.

Your aspens are about what we're seeing here, a partial change.

Yes, I noticed that the trees were getting very gold and the wind was blowing very hard yesterday, so i immediately drove myself to one of my favorite trails. Fall can be so fleeting, it's definitely a drop everything and enjoy it kind of season!

Oh how lovely those Aspens are, Gaelyn. Love to see when you visit the forest. (((Hugs))) Jo PS We're leaving home for another desert trip at 6am tomorrow. Are you ready to go?

I'm hoping to hike to some higher elevations (10,500 feet or so) this weekend to see some aspens. I love this time of year!

Don't blink - they'll be fully changed in a week! I can't believe how fast ours are changing - some dropping already. Yes, get out in the forest and take a hike in the gold splendor.

Truly a lovely time of the year and also a little melancholy mixed in there with the crisp air.

I have seen the aspens in their yellow glory only once on a vacation a couple years ago in Colorado. It was spectacular!

Like you I also need to get out into nature. I haven't been for ages and feel like I've lost my photography mojo. Beautiful picture.

Yeah.. it's about that time.. looks like a little early still, but in 2-3 weeks should be ideal. I'll be heading up to my favorite foliage areas around Cedar Breaks first or second weekend of October.. can't wait.. I had to skip last year.
