Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Remember Whensday - Do you own a skort?

Summer 1970
Oh yes the skort is back, shorts with a flap in the front for the uninitiated. Keep any item of clothing long enough and it Will come back into fashion. I didn’t keep my skort. Oh well.

Sally from The (Mis) Adventures of Karl and Sally has started a meme where the past is remembered through sharing old family photographs and this is #26. I love the idea and hope you will too. So join the fun by clicking here.

BTW, I’m moving out of the little house and back into the 5th-wheel all clean and shinny looking inside and it won’t roll from here until the end of April when I return to the canyon. However, as soon as all the stuff is moved, within the next couple of days, I can feel a road trip coming with the truck camper. Maybe southern Arizona where it’s just a little bit warmer.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Actually we lived on a hill and you had to walk thru a valley and up another hill to get to the school. Thus we had to go UP a hill while traveling to and from school. It makes a good story.

Oh my gosh. I remember the skorts - I almosts forgot about them. Thanks for the memory.

I remember them, but don't think I actually had one. I was married by that time and I avoid dresses and skirts of any sort usually. I did have a "wrap around" skirt in high school that I loved.

That's a cute photo. You look like you could be a guest on the Brady Bunch.

I loved skorts! I remember them well. Great pic. Do you scan them?

With seven sisters and four daughters - I lived through all the phases. Now teaching school to teenagers - history does repeat itself. Just wish I had some of the things I discarded.

I love your black and whites! And, yes, I had a couple of skorts. Great post. Happy trails!

Yeah, I had a couple of them, but since I'm short and they made me look like I was 15, I didn't keep "em either!
You're kidding right - that's not one fashion I look forward to!

I never had a skort.
I'm not surprised that you are anxious to head on down the road, you just can stay long in one place, but then, my neighbors say that about me, too.

Oh I remember the days of skorts however even if they are coming back my legs certainly aren't! Have a great week and thanks for sharing.

Gaelyn: I can honestly say I never wore one or had any thought of even wearing a skirt. LOL

I'd wear a kilt, though. I just don't think they make a Puerto Rican tartan. Shoot, I can't even find one for Illinois!

I had skorts too, but my days of wearing them are also over, even if they are in style again. You look more stylish in yours than I ever did on mine!

You were showing your legs which goes in hand with your traveling to warmer places. The picture had an influence over you or your choice in pictures shows your next move. :) Have fun on your road trip Gaelyn.

Totally remember the skort and had a few in my day! The front hid all manner of sins...oh but the back view!

Isn't it strange how everything is coming back into fashion. Kids should go and dig in they parents old boxes.

OOoooo... I hear there is a roadtrip coming up. Looking forward to that.

I had one, but before the 70's, want to say mid to later 50's when I was just a kid. Mine was shorts underneath and a skirt the same length as the shorts. Green!

Yes, as a matter of fact, I do own one of those right now! I love it. And you looked so cute in yours.

Isn't it crazy how fashions shift, change and return? It is kind of that way with some music too, and instruments.

I had a skort or two. I had quite a few miniskirts that were as short or shorter than the skort. It's embarrassing to think I actually wore that stuff!

I had a skort in the 1970's and beleive it or not you can still buy them. I work at Macy's and we sold them this past summer.

Pyatshaw said...

I don't know about skorts--only mini skirts and I only had one--didn't have the legs for them. Yes, every fashion comes back "in" only there is always some little difference and my "originals" always looked old fashioned.

Oh my ..what memories..I had a skort!

I don't remember skorts from the 70's - had only heard of them recently. And I don't think my mini-skirt was quite that short! :)
