Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Gift from a knapper

Rocks, rocks, and more rocks

I tend to haul rocks around in my old 5th wheel. A heavy load for sure. I also collect beads and books, not light in weight either. Yet rocks are great gifts, to the right people.

I gave John some obsidian gathered from the Glass Buttes area of Oregon. John is a knapper, and that doesn’t mean he sleeps a lot. That means he chips flakes off a hard rock to create arrowheads, knife blades or fetishes. He gave me three beautiful arrowheads which I’ll add to my collection.

John sells some of his work at the Kaibab Lodge, which unfortunately will be closing Nov 2nd. But it reopens mid-May when Hwy 67 into the Grand Canyon opens.

Carson & my old RV which I call home at the canyon.

I just found your blog recently and I'm reading your old posts! HA! I collect rocks, too! Hubby always says, "Get rid of those @#$N rocks!", but I manage to always bring a few of them home (tee hee!)...LOVE your blog! What an interesting life!
