I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Yes Texas is Big country. Nice pics though and it looks so flat. MB

Sounds like you're almost there. Like my Dad used to say - miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles.

You've got that right. I spent about a month driving through just the panhandle of Texas one time. And it was so flat! Stayed in a motel and walked out into the country a ways. Incredibly flat in every direction. I always thought North Dakota was flat but Texas beats it. I would like to see the rest of that state someday, though.

Don't they say everything is bigger in Texas?

Now you know it's true.

I have enjoyed your trip, probably more than you as I ma not so tired! Sounds like you are almost on the doorstep and I am sure you Mum will be pleased to see you. Not long now before my drive to France, approx 950 kms only plus a ferry trip. Can be done in one day but for safety reasons I take two days. Diane

Glad to hear you are on the road again. Now, no more breaking down! I hope to see lots of birds this weekend. I am in NYC with my brother!

You are putting the "R" into Road trip. What a journey.

Just so you know, as a certified, licensed, Professional Chemical Engineer I'll give you a little insight into that refinery or chemical plant that you passed. The towers and flares and stuff. The technical term is "TSTs." That stands for "Tall Shiny Things."

You might have also seen some "LROs." Those are Large Round Objects.

So there you go!

There is no way you can stop and photograph every interesting thing you see on a roadtrip or you would be lucky to make that 50 miles a day. We are used to long distances whenever we want to go someplace here in Alaska and ran into the opposite problem last fall in Pennsylvania. We'd plan on where we were going next, and see it was only abut an hour's distance away, and had a hard time dealing with how close everything was together. Texas isn't quite so big as Alaska but it has a lot more roads so I can see why it feels like you've been driving thorugh it for months. Love your yellow flower, by the way.

Texas is a huge state to drive across. We lived in east Texas for about 10 years before we moved to Utah. This time of year, I miss the warmth.
Pretty yellow flower! Hope you've reached your destination by now.
