Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Playing Tourist at Grand Canyon

01 Kaibab squirrel Bridle trail NR GRCA NP AZ (1024x756)

Kaibab squirrel

After we finished the laundry, one of those jobs at the bottom of my list, and checked the mail for our new glasses, which did not arrive, we took a walk up the Bridle trail to the “developed area.”

02 Gaelyn eating icecream on Lodge veranda NR GRCA NP AZ (1024x924)

Where there’s development there’s ice cream. And I can never say no to ice cream. I just don’t usually get to enjoy it like a tourist. Very nice indeed.

03 Doe browsing in forest along Transept trail NR GRCA NP AZ (1024x768)

Doe browsing

Just what we needed for the walk back on the Transept trail.

04 Mike walking log across cully near Transept trail NR GRCA NP AZ (746x1024)

This log beckoned challenged Mike to walk across, not once but there and back.

05 Gaelyn's feet on Lodge veranda wall overlooking canyon NR GRCA NP AZ (1024x640)

Not me, I was perfectly content to sit and watch.

I am also an ice cream fan:-) That log looks challenging. I have no fear of heights but I am not sure my balance would be that good!!Diane

That picture of you sitting eating ice cream and enjoying the view is NOT allowed on the blog Gaelyn. It HAS to be banned because it is totally unfair of you to tease us like that!! :)

LOL!! You looks so relaxed. What a wonderful way to spend your free time. There is just one thing missing in that ..... ME!! LOL!!

I love the last photo of the view past your shoes, Gaelyn. And YUM, who can say no to ice cream. We have the best ice-cream here in Khartoum (no Arabic word for it, it's called " 'scream" lol. I applaud Mike for taking up the challenge of the suspended log. Have a good rest, my friends. Hugs to both of you. (((Jo)))

The log was only about 30 feet high, or so... Probably could have flapped my arms maybe three or four times on the way down :)

The Ice cream was just what the Dr. ordered! Good fuel for the walk home...

What a beautiful relaxing day! I am glad you got to be a 'tourist' in the canyon to just sit there and enjoy the beauty together. And of course, ICE CREAM!
