Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Still some snow in the forest

01 Snow at edge of forest Hwy 67 S NR GRCA NP AZ (1024x779)

After stopping to smell the roses on my way home from town, posted yesterday, I continued up the plateau to see patches of snow still hidden in the edges of the forest.

02 Pond in meadow Hwy 67 S NR GRCA NP AZ (1024x629)

In another post back in April you saw these meadows buried under a white blanket.

Yet I know that spring is slowly climbing up to the North Rim.

And, BTW, it’s a FREE weekend at your National Parks. So get out there and enjoy!

I love the simplicity of your Vermilion Cliffs header photo. Also, the second photo on this post would make a nice header, the blues and greens are so peaceful.

Guess I shouldn't complain about our rain if you still have snow....wish I could be there to take advantage of the free weekend!

Hurrah, the snow is almost gone in the Kaibab. Now you'll have a lot more hikes to post about.

I always love to drive to the mts. and see the splotches of snow in the shadows. MB

I always found it fun to find these little patches of snow hidden away as they were refreshing on an otherwise warm day at this time of year.
Even though there is no snow at sealevel the snow line here is really quite low at 500m or 1500 ft which is very low for islands at this time of year.
Have a great and not too busy weekend.

I love your pictures. I truly love the Grand Canyon. It is a special place to me. I used to visit once a year. I have not been back for almost 8 years. Life sometimes gets in the way of the thing you enjoy doing. So for now I will enjoy your pictures.
Smiles,
Dottie

Soon they will be gone too.

Hey did Mike manage to get work there too? I know he was trying too. What amazing luck for both of you!! Now if only I could find work in you-know-where!!

Those patches of snow are exposed and will soon be gone, but I have seen snow here in July, tucked away in a shady area.

Lovely spring on the north rim, spring is about done here. It's hot, the hills are mostly gold. Soon we will retreat to higher elevations.

I can't believe that you still have snow around, cause winter has well and truly moved in over here. Must be some she left behind.

Yes - the snow does linger! Have a great spring when it arrives there.

Free access to National Parks - do they throw the airplane tickets in too. How about a pair of skis too?

I have said it before, but will say it again - the USA is immense, colourful and full of natural features and wildlife.

I like snow. I like it better when I can sit inside and watch it falling outside. Trouble is, as old as we are, Patty still had to drive Audrey to school and pick her up. So I don't like that.

Snow? Still?!! I like snow alright, but I like our spring, too. It blows my mind to think that things are so different on other parts of this big green and blue spaceship we call Earth.

Speaking of National Parks, we got to visit Denali! There weren't as many animals out as we had hoped but wow, we actually got to see Mt. McKinley a couple of times. So glad to be home now.
