Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

MWT – A new Jr Ranger

Mike spent the holiday weekend here at the North Rim. To find out how he liked it check out his post here.

Last night he finally decided to become a Junior Ranger and completed the activities. He’d already attended three of my Ranger programs. And he was so proud.

Congratulations Mike and well done Gaelyn for encouraging him! Wow, what a pleasure to do things together! Have a great day. PS your word verification here below is "Bless" I say that's apt!

Mike's got a long way to go to catch up with you, I know you try to do the programs at every park you visit. He's off to a good start, though.

The trees in my photos are lodgepole pine. That is the only tree on our property. Elsewhere there are a few hemlocks and some scrubby aspen. Lower down the aspen grow larger and you see the Jeffrey pine. The eastern Sierra doesn't have the nice mixed forest of the west slope.

Hi Gaelyn> I've been away for a couple of days, so I am catching up quickly. I am glad to see that Mike is sharing your interests. Always good for a relationship.

Sounds like you got the skillet on and if you don't do something then the bacon will burn.

I love to learn about our planet and how the canyon is a reflection of time. A look at what was when and what will surely be again.

If the oil spill isn't fixed I suppose the Gulf of Mexico will be a kind of look at history in the making -- the death of an eco system.

I heard or read where President Obama should take over BP and close the oils their incompetent staff can't fix. I hope he can do that too.

What a thrill it obviously is to Mike to be initiated into the ranger brother/sisterhood. He looks so very happy. So great to be able to share so much knowledge and beauty.

Thanks for the plug baby! But I must say... It's on now! It's going to be fun from now on :)!
My badge is just plastic... not real like yours is. You really earned it, and it wasn't easy by any means! You had to sacrifice for your dreams, and you came out the other side a Ranger! Martha is right, after seeing you do your thing, I couldn't hold a candle to you! People that were there got a real treat and I hope they feel that way too!
Thanks for such a time to never forget!
