I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Remember Whensday - Dreaming of someplace warmer

Me at the Bahaman Princess
Because I’m cold in the mornings I’ve been dreaming of a warmer place. In December 1974 my boyfriend took me to the Bahamas. Being under 21 I couldn’t go into the Casinos. Our hotel was not on the beach as advertised but a frequent free shuttle got us there in a hurry. We were so young, and so poor we really couldn’t even afford to be there. Ate a free Continental breakfast then over priced hotdogs for lunch and dinner at the International Market. One night we walked a couple miles to town for Burger King and discovered not all Burger Kings are equal in quality or price.

Freeport Bahamas
But we were Warm and enjoyed our days on the beach. Wish that I were there Now!

Sally from The (Mis) Adventures of Karl and Sally has started a meme where the past is remembered through sharing old family photographs and this is #31. I love the idea and hope you will too. So join the fun by clicking here.

I had to embiggen that picture at the bottom, it looked like that guy was wandering around naked.

My eyes are obviously frozen.

Gosh. I have some memories of my young days before I went to the Army. Some of them are amazing. I am often surprised I survived.

Memories........what fun. And you were warm. It seems so warm here--low 40s (F) and very rainy but i am very warm and I don't really want to go out and do anything in the rain. My pond is very full and the waterfall is rushing.

I'll have to check in on Sally's blog. Bye! MB

Hi Gaelyn, wishing for warmer climates? You are headed in the right direction (March). Our temperatures over here at present is in the mid to high 30's every day, but at least by March it should have cooled off a bit.

That is a warm and wonderful memory. And with the chill in the air we can all appreciate right now, Thanks Gaelyn.

Isn't it nice how it's not money & luxuries that make memories.

It is amazing the memories that come flooding back by just a suggestion. I hope you stay warm - my fireplace is continually burning. We are warm with a foot of snow on the ground.

Oh you bought back memories of summer vacations for me too, as I freeze in Okieland!

Your post did warm me up, and I wish we were there right now too!
So much fun to remember!
My hubby has a cousin and husband that do the same as you, and I believe they are in Arizona staying in an RV park, doing what they like best being your guides. In the summer they move back north to their home.
Hope you are having a Happy New Year.

A whole bunch of people just started hiking the Florida Trail...1,200 miles of warm sun and tropical fun. We should all just learn to migrate.

Oh for some warm sunshine, a lovely beach, and a turquoise sea! Being 21 (for a day) would be fun too!
