How wonderful that you captured the magic of this great storm! I love really wild weather, it is so stimulating with all the flashing and crashing and good old Thor hitting his anvil till the sparks fly down to earth. Wonderful, wonderful captures!!!

Wow Gaelyn those shots are fantabulous!! It sure lasted a loooong time.

As for the Owl. If I had a frontal view then I wouldn't be guessing. LOL. From a side view I see some front feathers and am leaning towards a Barred. MB

Spectacular display! A storm like that with the canyon as the backdrop must have been so exciting.

That was quite a storm, and you captured it well. The rainbow is just amazing. How cool to see it stretch across the sky over the vast canyon.

What a sequence of photos, Gaelyn! Those lightning strikes are so powerful and the rainbow so glorious. You need to frame these.

Oh Gaelyn, these are absolutely awesome. I know you cheated a bit, but the lightning pics are the best. I'm still trying to take a proper one.

An amazing storm. I've never been able to capture lightening on film. Probably my cheap handheld camera. My husband and I flew a plane to the Grand Canyon for our honeymoon. We were grounded by weather for a few extra days, but finally were able to get out under the clouds (too much ice up above). - Margy
