Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

SWF – Reach for the sky

01 Pinyon Pines on rock BAP trail NR GRCA NP AZ (1024x768)

Pinyon Pine along Bright Angel Point trail

I am always amazed by the sturdiness of trees growing straight out of rock. Note the tree’s root appearing between the layers of limestone.

The toughness of some of these trees amaze me. How it has held on for years I'll never figure out.

It's funny you said reach for the sky-this is one time that I'm sure the trees don't mind being held up by rocks.-nice photo!

When I notice a tree, weed or other plant growing in a hard place I think of it as a winner. How many seeds did not land where they could grow at all.

I think it's amazing too, Gaelyn! This looks a bit like a bonsai, although I'm sure in reality it's much bigger than that. :)

Here too the huge rocks that make up the Cascade Mountains always amaze me and the trees growing in a speck of soil do too. MB

When one is soft, it is then supple and adaptable enough to live under any conditions. When we live with a sense of ease from within, then this sense allows one to flow effortlessly in the outer world. A good life then starts by acknowledging and celebrating our inner feelings.

You live in a beautiful place Gaelyn.

Over the river & to the Rim!!! I am so glad to know that you are back at the NR, Gaelyn, although from one desert rat to another I wouldn't like the cold too much either!

Thank you for always checking in on the progress of my condor tapestry. It's very motivating for me.

Your photos are so beautiful... I am planning & hoping to come up the end of Aug with Dennis, keep your fingers crossed. Luckily we were able to get a room! I will be looking forward to seeing you again.

It's amazing where life can root itself. Plants never cease to amaze me, I have had the honor of seeing some spectacular specimens in my journeys. Enjoy the beauty of the plants around the north rim, I love that area!
