Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

SWF – Miles under a changing sky

01 Truck & 5th-wheel Yarnell AZ pano (1024x498)

Wednesday morning I finally rolled away from my winter home towing my new 5th-wheel under a brilliant blue Arizona sky. I’m headed back to work at Grand Canyon National Park, a paid vacation.

02 Cloudy sky with sun over Mt Humphreys I40E towards Flagstaff AZ (1024x656)

Mt Humphreys

Hours later, heading east on I40 towards Flagstaff a brief yet heavy spattering of large rain drops barely wet the highway while snow fell on the North Rim of Grand Canyon where I’m heading Thursday.

03 Sunset through the pines KOA Flagstaff AZ (1024x768)

Suppose to be clear skies for the next leg of my journey.

04 Sunset through the pines KOA Flagstaff AZ (1024x768)

The clouds drifted away with the westering sun.

To view more skies from around the world, or to share your own, go to Sky Watch Friday by clicking here. Thanks meme team.

SWF long badge

Upon getting to the canyon there’s a good possibility I won’t have internet in my RV. Unfortunately my smart phone doesn’t work well under the towering Ponderosa pine forest. (It’s a trade off.) Yet I can find places where it will work and get online. Please don’t think I’m ignoring you as I will try to keep up as I can. I will also continue to badger Qwest for my usual DSL.

Safe travels, Gaelyn. We all look forward to your returning to the Grand Canyon, though not as much as you do! A "paid vacation," indeed! Lovely photos.

I thought I recognized Mt Humphreys from our trip last month. Most of our route was different but now I have a feel of the territory you will drive through.

I'm looking forward to new photos of the Canyon. Hopefully Qwest will come through for you--just keep badgering them till they give in.

Nice shots! Safe travels, and good luck with the DSL. We're supposed to get a little snow tomorrow night again, and maybe next week.

I'll bet you are glad to be getting back to work. That last photograph with the pink clouds shot through the pine needles is just wonderful.

On the road again...love the framing of that last shot, Gaelyn! Hope the Canyon didn't get too much snow. We were having snow in Breck when we left town.

Fancy new digs, my friend! We take off in our own new traveling home tomorrow. (Nervous! Send us good vibes.)

Love the cloud formations in the Humphreys shot.

Hope you get your internet connection going. In the meantime, enjoy being back at the Grand Canyon and in that beautiful 5th-wheeler.

Pretty photos of the scenery, Gaelyn. I hope you're settled in by now.

Love your fifth wheel. That would be equivalent to living in the king's palace for us, compared to the cozy little trailer we're towing. The KOA owner in Miles City even told us, "awww, you're towing that little bitty thing? How cute!" Good thing our trailer doesn't have performance anxiety =)
