Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Ready to roll, again

01 Mt Hayden View south from Point Imperial GRCA AZ (640x397)

I had almost given up on getting back to work, which will seem like a vacation.

02 New 5er slides out Yarnell AZ (1024x768)

Thank goodness there’s no snow now but it did hail today, and snow on the North Rim

Got home Friday afternoon. How good it felt to sleep in my big bed in my big new 5th-wheel. Which I had kind of forgotten about as I didn’t live it in very long before being gone two months to Texas, and back twice.

Saturday I unpacked some of my stuff from the U-Haul mostly into the storage shed which is packed from floor to ceiling.

Sunday afternoon, Mike’s brother Max helped me unload the cabover-camper for the last time. I sold it. It’s been good to me and I love it when it’s on the truck but it’s an absolute pain in the ass to get on and off. I have a tent.

Next we delivered furniture, boxes of stuff and clothes to Mom. She seemed rather happy to see her big recliner and plopped right down into it.

I took Monday off. Wow, did that feel good. Went to Prescott with Berta to thrift stores (I really needed that fix) and a few groceries because it’s time to stock up.

Today I packed the 5th-wheel, inside and out and tomorrow I roll as far as Flagstaff 3-4 hours away. Then Thursday to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Yippee!!! I’ll be HOME! And I get to see my sweetie.

Unfortunately, Qwest strikes again and tells me there’s no DSL left on the North Rim. WTF!!!! I’ll be working on that.

I used to spend all my days off in Prescott when I lived in Arizona! Actually, I might be in Flag in August if you're around!

You've been so busy! I can see how going back to work will be relaxing! Will you be at the North Rim all summer?

I am also looking forward to seeing all your new photos of the Grand canyon. I know the feeling, going to work to have a rest, I used to feel like that when I worked for the Wild Life research officer in what was then Rhodesia :-) I loved my job and it fun to go to work. Diane

Glad your Mom got her recliner! Now you both can decompress. The worst is over and you're on the easy downhill to a wonderful summer.

Finally, all that is behind you, now you can get on to the work you love.
No DSL? They've got to fix that.

I, too, have a lot to catch up on Gaelyn. I'm pleased as punch that you're on your way back to the Canyon. The world will be back in its right order when you are there.

I admire you. You are one tough hard working woman.

I have to tell you I would have shot myself a long time ago.

Working on the North Rim has to be a lot better than driving across Texas twice! And I'm sure you and Mike will both be happy to be in the same place again.
No DSL! I hope that problem gets fixed.

With my two holiday trips and the working trip I just came back from, I haven't commented much over the last month otr so. But now I'm back and trying to get back into blog circulation. I am so looking forward to seeing the Grand Canyon again. I just hope you get to sort out the DSL.

I like Prescott. I was just there a month ago but with other people who had to HURRY to get down here. :( The Grand Canyon all summer. What's better than that. :)

Bummer on selling the camper, but I understand your pain of loading and unloading it. I wouldn't own one without electric jacks. :)

No doubt Mike will be delighted to see you, too. Hope you have a safe trip.
