Life is too short and flies by way too fast.
Only five weekends left at the canyon, not including this holiday one when I prefer not to travel or go anywhere during the American’s last hurrah of summer.
Mike mentioned getting a permit to camp on Widforss Point Monday night which requires a beautiful five mile hike each way and I just couldn’t get motivated for that. Besides, next weekend we want to go to Bryce Canyon National Park and occasionally I just need time off. Like at home spending too much time online.
The “winter” planning time rapidly approaches. For the last five years I’ve lived in central Arizona, not working, collecting unemployment, playing and travelling when I can afford it. It’s a great life. And the best part, I met Mike there!
This year I actually applied for five winter jobs thinking I’d need to keep working to afford to buy a newer RV. But I don’t really want to work this winter. I’d rather go home with my honey to friends and family fun times. Life should be in balance.
So now it must be time to move beyond five, as this is my 600th post and next month I’ll begin my third year of blogging, and return to those glorious Yarnell sunsets. Life is Good!

Well done, 600 posts sounds an awful lot but maybe I will get there one day!! Winter with Mike sounds like a good idea to me. That last phot of the sunset is stunning. Diane
You live a blessed life Gaelyn! You have it figured out, enjoying each moment in its own special way! Didn't the summer just fly?? Wow! Your summers in the Canyon are always filled with such beauty, and your time in Arizona filled with fun and love. Keep enjoying the journey!
Gorgeous shots, all.
Darryl and Ruth : )
600 posts my good heavens! Congrats on all you said - Mike, Living Life and all the wonderful adventures you get to go on. You are blessed!
When we embrace the beauty of Nature that surrounds us, as you Gaelyn so wonderfully gift to us.....the concept of work ceases to exist.
Enjoy your winter - it sounds lovely. I wish I didn't have to work this winter, but with kids in college that's not an option. It will be my 23rd winter in a row working :)
Enjoy! Gaelyn! Life is too short not to take advantage of all the good things like love and laughter and beauty! Congrats on your #600!
Sylvia
Great photos! Congrats on 600!
A great collection.
Well you tied all those Fives together nicely. You sure have covered a lot of ground in your three years of blogging. Congratulations!
Fabulous shots! And congratulations of three years of blogging! I look forward to many more lovely posts.
congrats on your 600th post! sounds like a great life you have.:p thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
Gaelyn, you know how to live.
Happy 600. I can't believe that there is only 5 weeks left at the canyon. It feels like just the other day that you said there was still snow. I can think its not easy deciding what to do this winter. Where are the 5 jobs you applied for?
Congrats on all those post Gaelyn. I have given up counting mine. :) What a stunning walk that is in the second picture with those pretty flowers along the path. Love the sunset too.
Rest is good, but I wouldn't get too relaxed around those vultures. Keep the hammock moving, and sleep with one eye open. ;-)
Congrat's on your 600th! With those fives, it sounds to me like you have things figured out well. Beautiful photos.
I'm a first time visitor, and have to say I really enjoyed the photographs and stories. Despite I've only visited part of the Grand Canyon once, I was curious what it might be like to be surrounded by something so spectacular day after day... I guess like everyone, you still need a holiday to get away from it all from time to time. I can relate to that. Anyway, glad I stopped by.
Congratulations on 600 blog posts Gaelyn!
Are those vultures in your first photo?
Gaelyn: Nice of the vultures to come in fives. You certainly had a great summer.
Congrats on your 600th post Gaelyn, I still love your blog and life. But I understand the need to relax, but also the desire to improve, it's a tough one and I have no doubt you'll work out a good compromise.
You came up with a lot of 5's. I can't believe your Grand Canyon season is almost over already.
You still have lovely wildflowers in the photo, and I love that last sunset.
