Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Scenic Sunday – Crazy Jug view

We sat in the camp chairs admiring the views from Crazy Jug Point.

And studied the lay of the land. The Colorado River flows northeast between Powell Plateau and Great Thumb Mesa then curves around the Mesa to disappear into the west.

Sweet! I didn't know you can put graphics over pictures... You gotta show me when you get home how you did that... Please...
And that was a pretty sweet view from the camp chairs just clicking away with the cameras!
So next weekend... Cedar Breaks, here we come! Better put on your happy face cause we're bringing our cameras!

Beautiful view, it would be hard to back up and go back to work, but then you get plenty of great views at work, too.
I like the ident-a-pic.

I literally can't even begin to imagine what the full sensory experience must be with smells and the sounds, but that shot's an awesome perspective on what it must be like to experience sitting there. I look forward to experiencing it all first hand, sooner rather than later!

We've camped near Crazy Jug Point several times, and hiked down into the canyon on a trail near there.
Beautiful view!

Gaelyn,
i was stoked when janie showed me the post on crazy jug!! one of my favorite spots on earth.
i have hiked in and around crazy jug canyon, thunder springs, tapeats cave and spring, powell plateau, dutton point, etc for ten straight years, 40 days or so and spent at least 10 hrs on crazy jug point plotting hikes with compass, gps, binoculars, camera, maps, pen and paper.
harvey butchart said there was an unmarked "boy scout" trail with a break in the redwall into crazy jug canyon and i found and used it on several trips. there are several reliable springs not on maps which i found too, which lighten the water load.
BUT i could not reconcile the labeled photo with my mental view from crazy jug point so i took a look from google earth.
did you shoot this pic from one of several excellent view points between cj point and monument point? it is the only way i can square your pic with the geography.
anyway, you found a fantastic spot and there is so much more to see and do in the area that a book could be written.
the view brought back so much.
thanks, steve
