I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Slow yet sure footed like a mule

61 Jeff & Diane on mule GRCA AZ (1024x759)

Experience Grand Canyon with Canyon Trail Rides

OK, so I’m feeling way behind on posting. I’ve been at the canyon just shy of two months and back from South Africa even longer yet have barely finished labeling those photos let alone sharing them. I’m going to work on that. But in the meantime, I’ve been going back to label old photo files, so this is what you get instead. For now anyway.

Remember, no matter how you go into the canyon something’s gonna’ hurt.

Ha I know how you feel, I still have photos from a year ago in Chicago I need to sort out!

This the way I would head into the Canyon I believe.

It must be quite a trip travelling down the canyon by pony, but I imagine one's posterior must be bearing the brunt of the impact. I think I would prefer to walk.

Gaelyn: I think it would be easier on the butt then on the knees. What a great photo.

Every time I open your blog, I feel like Peter Pan in the never, never land. Your photos always are so good and they transport me straight to the canyon. Great photo. Diane

I enjoy learning about the Grand Canyon from you, Gaelyn. You must write a book some day. Please? Please?

That is why it was called the wild west in the olde days Gaelyn. I cannot imagine riding on a mule through a canyon - I agree with Jonker - rather walk than ride. Rather sore feet than sore butt.

Great photo of the trail and mules. I've been on that trail and looking over the edges looked scary walking. I still think I would rather have my feet hurting.

Super shot. The colors of the canyon are so amazing----even with a sore whatever. MB

That really is an awesome image! I'm pretty sure I would rather have sore feet from walking. Not that I don't trust the mules. :)

Beautiful photo of the canyon. I wouldn't mind riding into it on an equine of some variety.
I'm often hopelessly behind. I sympathize.

Oh dear, that last sentence sounds ominous, even so, I would so love to be able to explore the magic of the Grand Canyon. So many things are no longer possible but at least I have the happiness of seeing so many wonders through your lens.
Thanks for taking me along to so many wonderful places.

Hugs and Blessings . . . Arija

MY children and I rode the mules to the bottom of the canyon . I will never forget the mule trail so narrow and the views down. A magical ride and a wonderful star filled night at the bottom of the canyon.
Smiles.

I think I'd rather walk and give the mule a break!!!! I've put a trip to the Grand Canyon on my bucket list thanks to you.
Big smiles Gaelyn!

I saw these when I was there and thought them a great mode of transport. Never wanted to ride one though as I think my butt would be sore for a week!! :)

I went to Warsaw over Easter and only recently finished classifying, etc. so don't worry.

I finally figured out how to do folders in my camera, which may help with upcoming trips!

This photo looks like so much fun, even though something will hurt...

My hubby has a yearning to ride the mules down into the Canyon. He likes to joke about the poor mule that would have me sitting on its back. I would be so petrified and the mule would be so confused. Marty says that all I would have to do is hold on and the mule would just plod along. But what happens when your legs are clenching the mule so hard that it can't breathe and your hands are clutching the hair on its mane with a death grip? Did I mention before that I have a wee little problem with heights? I love your photo, and I love the idea of being able to take that ride down the Canyon, but I think perhaps I'll just have to stick with the armchair version.
