MWT – Happenings at Grand Canyon
So much happening right now at the canyon. Summer is on with temps in the 80s. Don’t know what happened to spring, we went from winter to summer. Many special events...
I wish you would take a picture of the Canyon Swallowtail Butterfly. I have seen lots of swallowtails but am curious to know what these look like. I checked on Google and saw lots of things and most were not really butterflies. I saw one called a Canyon Swallowtail by the picture's owner and it looked like what we call a Tiger Swallowtail. Black and pale yellow.
I remember the nighttime skies of the Grand Canyon from our camping days on the South Rim. I'd love to be there with all those telescopes. What an amazing sight that would be. I am glad your snow has disappeared and flowers are now emerging! Enjoy!
Your world is lovely right now Gaelyn. There really was no spring here in FL -- I'm not sure if that's always how it is or if this year is different (we haven't been here this long before). But I missed spring!
Having lived most of my life in Chicago proper, I was AMAZED to see the stars in a dark, clear sky at Starved Rock. I would LOVE to look through those telescopes out there!
I can imagine watching the sky around there must be an wonderful experience. Similar to the Karoo over here. Doing a star watch with somebody in the know is an awesome and eye opening experience.
I'm sure the skywatching is sensational from the rim. We've never brought a telescope, but the stars are always glorious down there. Love the fabric postcard with crows and moon.

Ah, spring is a wonderful thing, especially in natural settings. It got hot suddenly here, too, a couple of days ago. That quilt is fantastic!

I would think that is the perfect place to go star gazing as it is in Kruger. What brilliant sights they must see through those telescopes.

A star party; now that is something worth attending! It's great you are all doing that - what a great program.
