SWF – Sunrise over Eastern Cape South Africa

01 Sunrise N2 E from Mount Frere Eastern Cape ZA (800x585)

Sunrise over Mount Ayliff far Eastern Cape

After the car wreck and a night in Mount Frere I headed off to trade in the rental car. It was a beautiful yet lonely highway towards Kokstad just over the border back into KwaZulu-Natal. Unfortunately, I had to continue driving for hours to Margate on the coast to exchange the crunched VW Citi Golf for a Yaris. But that’s a different story.

Looks like a nice drive. Too bad you were driving it to replace cars.

Beautiful sky, you have amazed me with the beauty of South Africa, I had no idea!

I read every word of the elephant post, very interesting. You put a lot of work into that.

The clouds and misty morning light look so beautiful and inviting.

You have captured such beautiful landscape and sky! I loved your last post on elephants at Kruger too. I used to watch them on AfriCam.

I still can't believe that they had you drive all the way back to Margate to change cars.

The Eastern Cape is still South Africa's wild undiscovered province and SA's next best thing.

Shame about the reason and long haul, but looks like some spectacular scenery to absorb you!

Looks like a drive that I would love to take... maybe a gypsy could show me the way sometime...

I always tell myself that if I have to go out of my way in a foreign place, where I didn't intend to go, it's something I haven't seen before and probably worth seeing anyway...and by the looks of this amazing sky...it was worth it!

Beautiful sky. A bit ominous though.

Too bad you had to drive so far to exchange cars. MB

That's a drag about the accident, but I hope you enjoyed driving the different cars. I always like driving other cars.
