Since returning from South Africa life has been a whirl wind tour.
Mike in the Weaver Mountains
Barely two weeks back home with my sweetie...
North Rim view from South Rim
...and I was on the road again heading back to work at the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park...
...via a hike with Ranger Jake into Havasu Canyon.
Snow on San Francisco Peaks
Then an extended layover with snow in Flagstaff.
Morning light over Bright Angel Canyon
I officially start work tomorrow and Friday our staff will visit the South Rim, via car not hiking, for five days.
Administrative area
That is if we’re not snowbound.
Tortoise at Addo Elephant Park South Africa
And I just can’t seem to catch up in Blogland. I actually gave up trying to read all past posts, although things are going faster for me in the cyberworld now that I’m off dialup.
Riding an ostrich in South Africa
It may take all summer to finish posting my South African adventure.
Lower New Navajo Falls
Then there’s the Havasu hike with breathtaking waterfalls in the desert.
Sunset from North Rim Lodge
And Grand Canyon of course on a daily basis for the next six months.
Plus, many other journeys to nearby places.
Just how do you all keep up?

You got one fancy crapper!
Glad you are back home safe and sound.
All those gorgeous shots, taking my breath away and then The Crapper!! Fantastic, I can easily see that you're definitely busy enough to need this upgraded version!! Have a great week, Gaelyn!!

Good question how to keep up with everyone -I'm struggling myself! Love your shots of Havasu - and oh still snow there by Flagstaff? wow!
You certainly have been busy! I love your pictures of snow at the north rim, the green water at New Navajo Falls and the sweet tortoise in South Africa.
Even though I haven't traveled anywhere, I find it challenging to keep up with blogging because the weather is so nice and I'm outside a lot. :)
That moonrise over the canyon is to die for.
But the fully wired toilet? That's a little over the top perhaps. I'd be afraid of electrocution!
Great shots. The last one gave me a laugh.
Sydney - City and Suburbs
Gaelyn: Fun post with all your travels. Tell Mike hi for me.
That's a beautiful sequence. I love that tortoise. And the bathroom....the only room anybody really needs. Now to get the potty to recline.
Very funny last photo. I liked the conjunction of the African and Arizonan pictures.
Like Yogi, I like the last photo. As for me, I am having to cut back on the blogging, there just aren't enough hours in the day. I won't give it up, though, it has become too important.
Used to live in Phoenix, AZ. Grand Canyon always fascinated me. Never got a chance to visit North Rim, been to south rim a few times. I will visit some day. Thank you for the beautiful pictures.
LOL!! LOVE the last one Gaelyn, just what I need too. :)
This is a great post. Take it easy and don't even try to catch up just carry on from today.
Good post and lovely photos! I don't think it's possible to live a full life and also keep up with all the blogs you would like to. You just read what you can and don't stress yourself about what you can't, post when you can and don't stress when you can't.
Gaelyn, I don't! I'm just as overwhelmed as you are and feeling guilty for not visiting everyone's blog, but then I remind myself that though I really love all my blogging friends, the real people right in front of me at home are the most important of all and there is only so much one person can do. So, I do the best I can and try to keep on posting and visitng others when I can. You have always amazed me with all the blogs you visit! I'm always very happy to see you on my blog but give yourself a break! Sometimes you just have to let some posts go. You really cannot blog about it all, even if you want to!
BTW, Love the photos of the toilet office! Sometimes I almost feel like I need that! But I agree with Diane, I just want to be outside!
These are great. The toilet office is a bit too real for me; I'll bet lots of people have one...
I also like the No Jumping sign. That would never occur to me!
I took the tour of the South Africa photos you have posted so far and they are spectacular, Gaelyn. What an amazing once in a lifetime opportunity that was. I love the Ostrich ride :)
So now its back to reality and the wonderful world on the North rim.
Thanks for sharing your awesome photos, including the (snicker snicker) last one!
How I would love to see a sunset / sunrise over the Grand Canyon. You are causing me to move the Canyon higher and higher on my list of place I would love to visit.
If you have tons of nice pictures from a trip its always hard to catch up posting them if there are new photos being taken all the time. I just keep going and slot in the older ones as I go.
Honey, life is all about living - not blogging or any other social media! LIVE and ENJOY and visit us when you can!!! And...just look at how well you are living! Love it, dear. Love it.
Great post Gaelyn and I hope you have a wonderful season doing what you love to do. Your photos are great especially the last one..lol!
Smiles
Wow! I can't wait to try out the new digs! Although it gives chatting a whole new spin...LOL
HI TOM!
Gaelyn, it's a wonder you have time to breathe with all that you have going on. Wow - what adventures and great photos, too. What was it like to ride an ostrich?
hee hee..I feel like that sometimes..so much to do..ha..love the last photo..
Love all your photos Gaelyn, and I know the feeling of not being able to ever catch up. Your last picture gave me an idea of maximizing my time with wireless internet and my netbook! ;-)
Great pics. Love the last "desk" shot. I'm afraid I'll never catch up, either.
