Dung Beetles find where elephants have been
It is almost unheard of to see all the Big 5 in one day yet that's what happened on my first visit to Kruger National Park which you can read about here.
I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

What a wonderful adventure you are having! Tremendous to see all five in one day. I love the handsome elephant with his lovely tusks and all those great cats too.
If you can keep it up in this vein, we should be in for some great treats.
Love Arija
Your trip is blessed! I am so happy for you! Can't imagine seeing the Big 5 all in one day. Amazing, Gaelyn. I do hope that necklace is YOUR necklace - you've earned the badge!
What a wonderful trip!! The pictures are amazing and the necklace is gorgeous!
What a gift to be able to witness these magnificant animals in their natural environment and despite the "shaking" you have captured them beautifully. Congratulations Gaelyn. Enjoy your wonderful holdiay and your necklace is stunning.

Girl, just WOW! Breath taking is right! and you are the only person I know who could legitimately start a post with elephant poo...

Happy to hear you are off to a great start! Take care.
I can hardly believe my eyes, that you already saw the Big 5 on day one! I love the leopard draped over the tree branch. I enjoyed all of the animal pictures, even the dung beetle.
Did you have to use your GO GIRL when that lion looked right at you? Glad that your trip is going so well! 19 days, but who's counting... ME!
So exciting! Thanks for taking us along on your safari. Great photos!
Wow! Just seeing all of that in day must have had you trembling. What an exciting adventure you are on.
These photos are awesome! Wow, what a fantastic experience.
WOW! All five in one day, and that your first day nogal. Wonderful. You got to do that before me. I have seen all five, but never in one day. Good to see you are having a ball.
You have posted and I did not see it till tonight... shocking! Well I am glad you saw all five, it is certainly not usual. Hope you and Joan are having the time of your lives and I will check everyday from now on.
Yowsers! That's great that you got a chance to see all five!!
Gosh - what luck, Gaelyn! It looks as though those animals were posing for you!
Oh, so many biiiig animals. I think I would have been more frightened of that elephant emerging from the brush than of the lions.
Will be following you more.
What a fantastic adventure you are having, Gaelyn! The animals you caught with your camera are so majestic and exotic---so cool!
Gaelyn: That Joan is an excellent guide and got you a neat show.
great photos - keep them coming. I have to go back to work :(
Am so happy for you that you saw the big 5... -hope you have a travel log or diary with you?
BTW - nice necklace!
The photos of the big 5 animals are incredible - you must feel like you're in heaven! I absolutely adore your new necklace - it's the perfect memento for this trip!
Oh wow! Gaelyn, what a treat to see all the big 5. We've never seen leopard in the KNP although where I grew up in Southern Rhodesia, leopard lurked around the compound where our village was. Never mind, even I became so choked up with excitement when I saw my first lion and you saw so many - and SO close. Well done! (((Hugs))) Jo
I would say you got the BIG SIX! Wow the African dung beetle! Very exciting day G!
