Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Thank you for stopping by. Just to let you know, I'm still blogging but have moved to Geogypsytraveler. Hope you'll follow my adventures. Just click here.

1 Year Blogaversary

One year old
I made it a year. Never thought I’d share so much of my life with the cyberworld.

My office view from Point Imperial
It started at Grand Canyon National Park with my first tentative post and changed the way I take photos forever.

Karen at end of Cape Final trail
Thanks to FabGrandma who introduced me to the world of blog, I now spend way too much time online, especially when on dialup, filling my need for an audience. I’m now following a dream of writing; maybe someday I’ll get paid for it but not by advertisements. Thanks Karen! ;-)

I’ve showed you where I live in my old RV both at the canyon...

...and Yarnell.

Didn’t know I had so much to say (that’s a lie). But then I did share quite a bit of my history. Dragging you around the country where I’ve lived and traveled over the past 15 years on the ever awesome My World Tuesday meme.

You met my long time travel companion Carson and consoled me at the end of his life’s journey.

I’ve introduced you to some of my dearest friends and family.

The best part about blogging is all the fantastic people I’ve met from around the world. You can see the constantly growing list of blogs I follow on the side bar. I learn so much from each of you. Thank you my friends.
Joshua Tree and Salton Sea
I plan to keep on blogging, at least for the next six winter months which are all I can plan at once. I hope to share with you as I explore more of the area around Yarnell, see my step-son in San Diego with side trips to Joshua Tree NP, the Salton Sea and Anza-Borrego Desert, a quick trip to south Texas where my parents live, and best of all, South Africa where I’ll actually get to meet my first fellow blogger Joan, the Bug Lady, of SAPhotographs. I'd really like to meet you all.

I AM addicted to Blog!
PS: Yesterday I was given an award by Alan at Yogi's Den. So I'll be passing it along.

Those last couple of pics really hit the spot - I'm going to Palm Springs at the end of the week for a vacation and Joshua tree and Salton sea are at the top of my list!

Beautiful pictures. Blogging is like sauerkraut. You either like it or don't and it always smells bad when you're making it.

Gaelyn: Congrats on reaching one year, it is addictive. You certainly share my love of nature through your blog. You are blessed with being a ranger and working in the national parks. I will be with you through the next 6 month.

(ps - I'll post fresh photos of the Autumn hair someday soon... it's about time for a trim as well, so I should probably wait till it's all neat and tidy. ;)

Has it only been a yea? I feel I've known you for ever. Congratulations! Is not the photo taking change a great leap forward? Where we used to shoot for ourselves, we now consciously take photos to show to others.
The whole blog experience is such fun, keep it up!

Congratulations on a fascinating year of blogging. Look at your first post it doesn't seem at all tentative. I started out with pictures and quotes only for awhile before I got brave enough to "speak!" You've done a great job with pictures and stories, love visiting on a regular basis.

And I am so happy you decided to share too Gaelyn, I love your blog.

Your wonderfully moving post about Carson made me cry more than any other I ever remember and has stayed with me to this day, you really moved me.

I also love how different your life is to most of us. I hope one day we will also get to meet.

Gaelyn, happy, happy anniversary. I have discovered your blog late, but will check every day. I enjoyed reading the little retrospective, and when I get time (is that possible?), I will browse your blog backwards.

Your last shot of the Joshua tree is beautiful.

And I'll bet your highchair had wheels, even way back then....

Happy Blogaversary. Amazing feeling isn't it. I know the feeling. Doing this has also changed the way I look at taking photos and I can see how I progress. And I also agree. This is the best way to make some awesome cyber friends all over the world. I am so fortunate to have discovered your blog and can't thank yo enough for always popping into mine and commenting. Here to another year.

Congrats on your first year! Blogging really is an amazing thing! When I first started two years ago, it felt like I was writing a diary, but then it got so interactive with people from all over the place! Last week I even met a couple that follow my blog because they like to vacation here.

Happy Blogging!

Happy blogaversary! Isn't it interesting how fast a year can go, and at the same time how much we can accomplish in that year? It's been great to get to know you, and I'm glad you have had the chance to share yourself through your expressions here in blogland!

Congrats on your first year! And that's a great one-year summary. :)

Happy Blogiversary! I never knew I had so much to say, either. (Though I'm not saying a lot at the moment.) I'm so glad you're here. You're one of my favorites to visit and one that I most look forward to visiting me. (One of us is better at the visiting than the other, no?)

You may have learned a lot in the last year, but I'm sure it's safe to say your readers have learned as much or more. Me? More.

Happy Blogoversary!!! I just missed you at Salton Sea and Joshua Tree - two fantastically otherworldly places. If you get a chance - take a quick sidetrip to Organ Pipe Cactus NP for a trifecta of gorgeous desert scenery.

I cannot imagine the blogosphere without you - you fill a definite need for all your fans. It's hard to believe you've only been doing this for just one year - seems like you've been around forever. You have come such a long way in such a short time! You're going to South Africa? Awesome!!! I was hoping I would be the first blogger to meet you though... (sigh) Best Wishes always to you, Gaelyn, and thank you for sharing your interesting life with us all out in cyberspace! We love you!

Congrats on your 1 year blogaversary. I am fairly new to your blog and I love it. I did find Yarnel on the map. I love your photos and hope to get that good as I start my traveling. I did make it to Grand Canyon, but much to late in the season. I haven't been that cold in 31yrs. lol I will return in the warmer season. I hope to meet you there.
You seem to have a great travel plan going for the next few months.
Have a great time and can't wait to see and read more of your adventures.
