Not even 2.5 weeks until my season is over at Grand Canyon. How sad, yet glad. So because this year I became a two RV single person family I have to make two trips, 360 miles each way, to get myself to Yarnell, my winter home in central Arizona.
Sunrise in Yarnell
So I’m leaving work early on Monday and driving four hours to Flagstaff for the night where I’ll camp. Then Tuesday I’ll have the other three hours to go. Nice to break it up.
Hopefully I’ll have something to post Monday night after I get into Flag.

Have a safe journey, love the new header.
Lucky you, sounds like a nice trip, going "home" is always nice.
Safe journey.
Smiles
Enjoy the Journey.
The Seasons are an illusion. There is only really one Season and it occurs right now.
I'm not sure what happened to summer, it went by so fast. Travel safe!
drive carefully Gaelyn.
Safe journey, Gaelyn.
I wish you a safe trip! Catch a sweet sunset, will you?
Yarnell is a great place and I have several friends up there. David Smith and Tom Simplot and Sharon Anck goes up regularly and Rebecca Wilks. You would enjoy them. Thanks for all of your comments regarding the Slot Canyons and Vermillion Cliffs on my site. I will have more photos of this area for at least a few more weeks. It was so scenic up there. The condor photos are coming up soon also.
I didn't realize you are a two camper family! I guess each one has its use for your needs. The cabover is good for the short runs and the RV good for living at the Grand Canyon. It's been a great summer full of wonderful shots!
That's a lot of driving. Hope you see lots of interesting sights. That'll encourage you to stop for photos and stay alert during those many hours.
Gaelyn: Do have a safe trip to your home.
what a geogous sunrise! happy and safe driving.
Bon voyage, happy trails, etc. Looking forward to your photos. BTW, on my blog I left you an answer to the question you asked today.
Good luck on both of your trips. Do you know where you will be hanging your hat next season? Let us know, we might visit.
thanks.
It must be awesome for you to life out in nature all summer long and I can imagine it gets a bit boring "hibernating" through winter.
Question. What is it like at Grand Canyon in winter. Why do you stop working. Does it close down. Is there too much snow. Just curious.
Safe journey to your winter home. the Grand Canyon has been full of wonderful stories and pics from you. Do you know yet where you will be next year? MB
Hi, I just found your site thru Ginger's. I love it and can't wait to read every bit of it from the beging. I live in AZ and just bought a Class C. I will be heading for Williams the end of Oct. I maybe heading there a little to late in the season. Will be taking the train to the Grand Canyon.
So Glad I found your blog. I have never heard of Yarnell, must look it up.
Hope you will keep us updated through the winter! Have good road trips home.
Have a wonderful road trip! Ah, good old Flag, that was a fun place to spend some time.
Have a safe trip. The summer went by fast again, didn't it?
