Scenic Sunday - Storm over Grand Canyon

This is my first post to Scenic Sunday.

Yesterday afternoon we had a downpour on the North Rim. The most rainfall all summer. It only lasted about 30 minutes yet small streams ran all over and the ground actually got wet. I love the smell of the air before, during and after the rain.

Sounds wonderful, we finally got some rain too. Petrichor, "the smell of rain," is a heavenly scent. :)

What a beautiful shot! The canyon always looks so gorgeous after a rain.

Beautiful photo. I think we appreciate the rain a lot more in the dry parts of the country because we see so little of it. I love the sound and scent of rain, too.

Maybe this is the rain we had last week? Welcome to SS, of course I missed this week typically!

I am glad to hear about the short rain. There's probably more on the way! I know what you mean regarding that fresh smell.

We got rain yesterday and the sage smelled so good. Thanks for the correction on the Oregon grape not blueberry, ooops!
