Sky Watch Friday - Sunrise, Sunset

Sunrise through trees from my window

From highway 67 north surrounded by the 2006 Warm Fire
It rained a bit as I was leaving the North Rim early in the morning Wednesday to make it to Kanab for a truck repair appointment. The further north I got the clearer the sky. And Kanab was quite warm, although not their usual exceedingly hot.

I spent seven hours and way too many dollars at the mechanic shop. Truck runs better but still smokes like a dirty chimney going uphill. I’m not happy with that. I may have to accept that it’s an old truck. And instead of putting money into it save for a replacement. OUCH! It cuts into my playing money, and I’m not happy about that either.

Sunset over the meadows along highway 67
But how could I be unhappy for long when I drove home and saw this.

Superb skies Gaelyn, I love those packed clouds in the second shot and that wonderful evening sky. Sorry to hear of your mechanical problems but on the other hand if that is the worst that life throws at us, its not so bad is it?

Howdee!
Great skywatch pics..I know fires aren't always a good thing..but the dead trees sure look cool against the puffs of white in the sky!
sorry about your truck..we just had some work done on our ford explorer..so far so good..will keep it until it dies..hopefully that wont happen for a while!

Nature can make a person forget their troubles, for sure.

Gaelyn: That was a red morning sky and the day turned out beautiful.

There is nothing better than a sunset - except a sunrise!

Fabulous shots, Gaelyn, as always! Sorry about the truck, seems like it's always something, doesn't it?

The sky in that last shot would have made me feel better, too!

Have a great weekend!

Nice photos Gaelyn, what are the trees? They look like standing fire kill. Good luck with your truck, it is no fun putting money into those things. Have a great weekend.

That second photo looks as though someone spilled soapsuds in the sky! Love your peaceful sunset. Too bad about the truck, Gaelyn!

Beautiful skies and it does help take the edge of irritants like needing to get the vehicle fixed when you have lovely skies to look at. I'm the same way. My car is showing it's age and needs work and I've even shot the sky while waiting for it to be fixed.

Great skies. I particularly liked the first picture, it must be the colors. Hope you can manage the truck repairs!

Very nice pics, Gaelyn. At least the truck is still running so that's always a good thing. :-)

Beautiful scenery...I tend to drive my cars into the ground before getting a new one. I hope you can get some more use out of it before you have to make that kind of purchase...

Ouch. Things like those repairs can really hurt the pocket. :(

Lovely shots Gaelyn. I wish we would start to get some rain here. If we have another drought like last year I am going to sit down and cry!!

So sorry I did not get t your e-mail last night. As I said to Jeannette I have been in crises-mode.

I love that second shot, with its restricted colour palette. It looks like the earth has been wrapped in cotton wool. Hope your truck holds out a while longer.

When I saw your first photo I thought it was a wildfire in the woods. It scared the ba-gee-bers out of me!
Aww, what a gorgeous sunrise peaking through the trees and a glorious twilight at days end too.
I hope your truck keeps on trucken, Gaelyn :D

Are those trees burned? Your blog is amazing - so much to see!

That second one looks like someone took off the underside of a comforter, just to feel the soft cottony stuff inside. It's my favorite.

I am in love with that middle photo. You did a great job capturing the back light. Sorry about the truck. Maybe you can find a mechanic who truly understands it!
