Highway 67 north leaving Grand Canyon National Park
The sky changed at every turn.
.jpg)
Forest Road 610 heading east
Left the park and entered the forest.
.jpg)
My how the dust flies.
.jpg)
Which way did I go?
.jpg)
The forest closes in as the road narrows.
.jpg)
Deer Vetch
Saw so many flowers.
.jpg)
Geranium (I think) and Roses
If anyone can identify the above white flower let me know. (Thanks)
.jpg)
Columbine
.jpg)
Ponderosa Pine
The forest reveals many kinds of unusual growth.
.jpg)
Unknown mushrooms
This snag provides a home for many ants. Enlarge to see the sawdust pile at the bottom.
.jpg)
A small pond appears where the limestone creates a sink. Many birds that I couldn’t get close enough to photo.
.jpg)
And I picked up a hitchhiker somewhere along the journey.
Hope you’ll come back tomorrow for more of this adventure and see which way I did go. I only drove about 12 miles, yet it took me almost two hours with all the stops for pics along the way.

Gorgeous photos. I love the sky and its ever-changing shapes. And how sweet is your little hitchhiker? Looks like he was having a blast, too! I'm looking forward to seeing Pt.2 soon. :)
Have a great weekend!
Love your hitchhiker Gaelyn. I have had a couple of those along too. Beautiful flowers. The new header is stunning!!
Gaelyn: What a neat drive and some funphotos.
What a beautiful place to explore. I love all the trees and flowers and the cute hitchhiker too. Your mystery white flower looks like a Richardson's Geranium.
That's a really nice series of pictures--so beautiful there!
I think the white flower is a Richardson's geranium, too.
Cute little hitchhiker, and some beautiful scenery on the narrow Kaibab roads.
Great series.
Loved the hitch hiker's shot. :)
Ha, your new friend even reminds me of a character out of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy--antennas and all!
Gaelyn, great photos and a wonderful journey in your beautiful country. I do like your hitchhiker. Thanks for sharing.
Smiles
I can hear the silence-smell the resin-feel the clean fresh air.Lovely ride and wandering over the thick grass.
Wow..that pine tree was really odd. I wonder what caused it to grow that way..Love that the birds have a natural bird bath...
