Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Flustered in Flagstaff

This morning I bought four new tires for my truck. When the truck was backed out of the bay, a low hanging banner tore a vent lid off the camper. The manager assured me they’d pay to have it repaired. So I took it down the street to Flag RV. After much measuring, discussion and phone calls the new vent is on its way from Indiana and will be replaced tomorrow.

Berta and I took off in her car and explored old town including lunch, a new pair of Teevas for me and a couple of thrift stores. In spite of the difficulties we still laugh and have fun. Yet tomorrow after the repair and some grocery shopping we will both head in opposite directions home. Back to work on Friday. Even three day weekends aren’t long enough.

Into every life a little rain must fall. Let's just hope it doesn't until after you get the vent repaired.

And you are so right, three days is not nearly long enough. (And I can't believe I am complaining after being off for 6 months!!!)

Oh dear!! At least they are paying for it. I am glad you had fun. :)

It is a pity we dont have jobs here where I can work for just 6 months out of a year, that would be great. I would live in Kruger the rest of he time. :)

Look on the bright side. You now have a new one that should last for years. How is life in the canyon this time of year?

The damage a banner can do!

I have such fond memories of Flagstaff and the Natural Slide near it. I hope to be able to return there some day.

In order to be long enough an weekend should have at least 5 days... and even that would not be enough.

No, 3-day weekends are not long enough. I wish we had 8-day weeks and EVERY weekend was 3 days and sometimes it were more.

it's that time already? seems like you just started your three-day weekend. sorry to hear about the vent deal but happy it will be resolved.
so...what goodies did you find in the local thrift shops? any great discoveries?
have a good evening.

Bummer on the camper damage. At least they are fixing it for you.

And yes, I've been RV'ing & camping since I was 8 years old. It's in my blood. I swear with the rv'ing and the travel bug, I've got gypsy in me. :-)
