Description

I own no land, instead I have wheelestate. I’ve been a full time RVer since 1997. Working summers as a Park Ranger takes me to many beautiful places and playing during the winter takes me to many more. This blog is simply the story of my life's adventures.

Going Home - My 100th post

Mom & Dad
Every year I try to make a journey to south Texas to visit my parents. I fly out of Phoenix Tuesday and return the following Tuesday. My fight includes about a two hour layover in Houston both ways.

Their Texas home
This will be the first time I’ll take my laptop so we’ll see how well WIFI works for me. Once at my folks’ in San Benito I’ll try to find a hotspot. So, maybe I’ll get to keep on blogging.

My family originates from Illinois and Wisconsin. After retirement my parents moved to Arkansas, yet they’d been Good Sam RVers for many years and started spending winters in Texas. Over time they grew tired of driving back and forth so bought a permanent place in San Benito.

After surviving two strokes my Dad has spent the last year in a nursing home. Mom now lives by herself and visits him about every other day. I feel incredibly fortunate to still have my parents in my life, even if we don’t visit frequently. And even though my RV home is where I park it, home will always be at Mom and Dad’s. Although I wish it could be somewhere other than hot and sticky Texas, I'm glad not to have snow.

From the trees looks like south Texas or the Texas coast. Quite different from the parts of the state I have been showing.
