I never tire of sunsets, as I’m sure none of you do either.
6:23pm
No two seeming alike.

So far, 2011 has been a year of changes.
Changed housing by buying the new (to me) 5th-wheel.
A week ago, seven days, I made another change. I Quit smoking after 40 years. NOT easy. But I AM smart enough to know better. I have friends suffering from this addiction whether they still smoke or not. [GIVE ME A CIG!!!!!] NO, just kidding. It gets better every day as I breath clearer, cough less yet still crave. I’m told that craving may never go away.
And because of this healthy change I treated myself and bought my Very first cell phone, a droidx. It’s Sooo much smarter than I am. It actually works in my home, even to surf the web. Plus, it’s a mobile hot spot. No more dialup. I’ll give it a day before I tell Qwest what to do with their phone and dialup service.
After five years of dealing with dialup in Yarnell, I’m finally free to fly.
I so thoroughly enjoyed spending a full day in Hermanus along Walker Bay. I’m not usually a water baby, but as they say, when in Rome…
How nice it would be to follow the coastline all the way to the Cape of Good Hope.
Rain fell intermittently followed by bursts of sunshine then rainbow.
I felt like I was chasing westward for the elusive pot of gold. Yet around every bend I found the best riches as I savored each precious view and moment.
More rainbows to come
Funny as I’m going through all the photos from my South African adventure small thoughts and memories pop up. One of the reasons I take so many photos (almost 6000 from this trip) is to record the Now, Now, Now, for later, later, later. Plus I’m anal about labeling all my photos just in case in my elder years I don’t remember.
After a full day of celebrating my birthday I returned to Anchor’s Rest B&B just before sunset.
My host had told me about a coast trail I could easily access a block away.
I found a bench overlooking the bay.
It was wonderful to just sit quietly and reflect on my journey so far. Here I was, sitting in South Africa, a dream come true.
The following day I would drive to the Cape of Good Hope.
